Ice Skating & Toboganning
Don't forget to bring your skates! Whitetail Lake is prime for blades. Bring along the hockey
sticks and have a family challenge. And be sure to bring the kids toboggans because there are
a ton of prime hills near the Cabins.
Snowmobiling
If your ultimate idea of DOing the backcountry in the winter is snowmobiling –
welcome to the Purcell Mountains. The Cabins at Whitetail offer trained guides to explore the
endless world of trails or you may wish to explore on your own. Special Sled
and Bed packages available.
Horse Drawn Sleigh Rides
The Cabins at Whitetail offer a full stable with gentle trail horses and experienced
guides. Horse drawn sleigh rides may be arranged to tour the immediate vicinity of Whitetail
Lake.

From The Cabins at Whitetail you can take a leisurely evening stroll around Whitetail
Lake or an afternoon walk to view the Dutch Creek Falls. Seeking to DO a more energetic hike?
We might suggest the Alpine Trail where you can overlook the beautiful community of Fairmont
Hot Springs.
We also offer horse-assisted hiking tours to spectacular locations such as the
Dutch Creek West Glacier. SEE the beginning of the mighty Dutch Creek!
Mountain Biking
Is your idea of DOing the backcountry a little bit more exhilarating than a hike? Love the thrill
of soaring down majestic mountains on your mountain bike? The possibilities are endless in the
Purcell Mountains.
Horseback Riding
The Cabins at Whitetail offer a full stable with gentle trail horses and experienced
guides to take you on daily; 3-day or 5-day horseback treks
throughout the mighty Purcell Wilderness Mountain Conservancy. Special packages are available
including overnight stays at The Cabins at Whitetail before or after your trek.

FishingIf fishing is what you DO in the backcountry, The Cabins at Whitetail are located on
one of the best fly fishing lakes in British Columbia – Whitetail Lake (aka Deer Lake).
It is stalked with Rainbow and Triploid trout that grow up to 10 lbs.
Canoeing, Boating, Swimming
The lure of the gently lapping water of Whitetail Lake calls out to you. Your choices
are endless – an invigorating swim in the morning, a crazy fun-filled family romp in the
afternoon, a leisurely canoe around the lake in the evening to see the multitude of birds or
a motorized fishing boat tour of the lake.
The Cabins at Whitetail provide canoes and fishing boats at no additional cost.
All watercrafts are supplied with a variety of life jackets for the whole family.
